Carried Away

Denim and leather become one, as her leg swings over the seat of her saddle.

Her hands firmly hold the reins, yet don't interfere with the horse they connect her to.

Her heels sink towards the earth as her rear end sinks into the solid tree, and she and her horse move as one.

For the first time in weeks, she let's someone else carry her. Both physically and mentally.

The mare carries more than the body weight of her rider-she carries the weight of motherhood and work, bills, worries, and anxiety- the weight of the woman's world.

It is in that saddle, where the woman finally relaxes. It is in that saddle, where life makes sense and trust is built. The leather, the horsehair, and the scent of her mare's earthiness force her to focus on the present, and she finally lets go.

When life feels too heavy to bear, she lets her horse carry the weight.
